DrupalCamp Ruhr
Info
If you have been to one of the DrupalCamps Ruhr in 2023 or 2018, this one will work basically the same.
If you have never been to one: DrupalCamp Ruhr is a two-day event that brings together developers and designers that work with Drupal. There will be sessions, discussions, networking, food, and drinks. It doesn’t matter if are a veteran Drupalista or new to Drupal. You will find enough interesting topics to learn something new.
As soon as the new website is online (by the end of May) you can register here and propose a session. Ideally, most people will do this a few months/weeks in advance. We will collect the sessions and group similar topics together.
But just like last time, there will be a Barcamp component to it. Every morning you may present a new session or topic for discussion which we will incorporate into the session plan. This often happens on Saturdays after some discussions on Friday.
We know that some of the participants come from other countries. So the event will be mostly in English. And if you have a session or discussion in mind we prefer it to be held in English. But, if you are uncomfortable to speak in English, you may offer the session in German instead. Usual topics include Site Building, Modules, Module Development, Frontend, Accessibility, and Performance. See the proposed sessions of DrupalCamp Ruhr 2023. The sessions will not be recorded.

If you stay till Sunday, there will be no official event on Saturday evening. But we might have a few unofficial suggestions.
Tickets
Tickets are available at Eventbrite. There are three options for basic tickets:
- Early Bird: 29 Euro (till 30 June)
- Regular: 39 Euro
- Supporter: 69 Euro
If you want, you can grab a ticket that comes with a T-shirt (check out the info below).
- Early Bird with T-Shirt: 39 Euro (till 30 June)
- Regular with T-Shirt: 49 Euro (till 22 August)
- Supporter with T-Shirt: 79 Euro (till 22 August)
The tickets are for both days of the DrupalCamp. There will not be tickets for a single day.
Some context on the prices: Every person will have free entry and food in the Unperfekthaus. This will cost us 82 Euro per person for two days. Any shirt we print will cost around 18 Euro (Premium Bio T-Shirts from Spreadshirt).
So a two-day ticket bundled with a shirt will cost us 100 Euro. And with Early Bird you can have both for just 39 Euro. What a deal!
But if you can and want to support us, we have added Supporter tickets this time around. Which are still a good deal.
If you plan to hold a session, thank you very much, but you still have to pay for ticket and shirt. The only exceptions are the free tickets/shirts for the Sponsors and the Featured Speakers.
Food & Drinks
During the DrupalCamp on Friday and Saturday your tickets will include:
- Continental (simple) breakfast buffet
- Lunch buffet (meat/veggie/vegan)
- Evening buffet
- all non-alcoholic hot and cold drinks from the vending machines
At the Get Together on Thursday and on Friday evening in the Unperfekthaus we plan to have sponsors for a certain amount of free drinks. When those are gone you will have to pay for yourself.
T-Shirts
Like at DrupalCamp Ruhr 2023 you may optionally buy a T-shirt. After you have purchased your ticket, you can enter your size on Eventbrite. The shirts will be printed by Spreadshirt again. We are aiming for Women Premium Bio T-Shirt and Men Premium Bio T-Shirt (provided they are available when we print). These are the same shirts we had at DrupalCamps 2018 and 2023. See the size charts (Größentabelle) on the Spreadshirt site to pick the right size for you. You may change the size in Eventbrite till 22 August. We will lock T-shirts at this date cause we need to give Spreadshirt some time to actually print them.
Location
It can be quite difficult to find a decent location for events like this. We are in the fortunate position of having the Unperfekthus right here in Essen. This will be the seventh DrupalCamp Ruhr. And the seventh time we are meeting in the Unperfekthaus.
It’s hard to describe what exactly makes the Unperfekthaus the special place it is, home to artists and businesspeople alike. A well-known venue for meetings and gatherings of all sorts, there are a great many people and styles that amalgamate and make it truly unique.
Just like in 2023, we will have three rooms on the fourth floor. So we can have three sessions at the same time. Smaller groups can find additional spaces within the Unperfekthaus for BOFs or smaller discussions. We will also use room 222 for the Nerd Quiz on Friday evening.

Drupalcamp Ruhr 2025
The next DrupalCamp Ruhr will take place on 12 and 13 September 2025 (Friday and Saturday) at the Unperfekthaus in Essen. We’re looking for businesses and organizations interested in providing sponsorship support. There will be three different sponsor packages: Gold, Silver, and Bronze. There will also be two options for social sponsors.
